CHILLICOTHE – In an effort to raise funds to finish the second renovation stage at the Obadiah Harris Family Sports Complex, the Chillicothe Club has come up with a creative idea.
After the Unioto versus Chillicothe football scrimmage Friday at Herrnstein Field at 7:30 p.m., a helicopter will fly over the field and release hundreds of numbered golf balls aiming for one target on the field. Whichever fan holds the ticket with the same number as the ball resting closest to the target will win $2,000. The person with the second closest ball wins $1,000 and third place will win $500. There also are seven non-money prizes that will be given away.
The golf balls can be purchased for $10 a piece from any Chillicothe Club member, Schlegel’s Coffee House on Paint Street and during the scrimmage game.
The second phase of renovations include concession stands and restrooms.
Organizer Liz Corzine said selling 1,800 golf balls is their goal and believes they are currently halfway there.
