Colorado Academy soccer looks to 3-peat as 3A champs

KUSA – The Colorado Academy Mustangs soccer team will look to 3-peat as 3A state champions on Saturday. The Mustangs topped Salida 2-0 in the semifinal to advance to the state title game.

Colorado Academy’s freshman Avery Niles put his team on the board first. While a pair of Salida defenders were having communication issues in the box, Niles found the back of the net to put the Mustangs up 1-0 less than ten minutes into the game.

Niles also had an assist late in the game and found Alex Clinkscales to solidify their 2-0 victory.Colorado Academy will face Kent Denver in the state title game on Saturday, November 8th at 10:30 a.m. at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
