Colts travel north and remain perfect

KUSA – The Pueblo South Colts traveled north and didn’t let the wintry conditions (yes, in September) get the best of them at Jeffco Stadium. Pueblo South topped Wheat Ridge Thursday night 37-20 and improve to a perfect 3-0 record.

Colts’ senior running back Ray Mitchell ran for 3 touchdowns on the night, his first trips to the end zone this season. The 5’6″ workhorse started his night off right. In the first quarter, Mitchell shook off a couple tackles and flew out of the gate for a 60-yard touchdown run.

The Farmers also had a stellar run-game anchored by senior running back Jordan Jones who entered the night with 5 rushing touchdowns on 17 carries in his previous 2 outings.

Wheat Ridge is now 2-1 on the year, but look to get back on track next Friday the 19th when they travel to face Dakota Ridge at 7:30 p.m. Pueblo South look to go 4-0 when they host Falcon at 7 p.m. next Friday night.
