Yesterday, Cox 4 and Cox Sports Television released the list of Louisiana high school football games they will be broadcasting. Every week, Cox 4 will show a game in the Baton Rouge area, one in the Lafayette area and one in metro New Orleans, with CST picking up one game per week for a live simulcast.
Destrehan gets the spotlight in two of the first three weeks, and Week 6 showcases top Louisiana recruit Tyron Johnson of Warren Easton. But the late-season stretch belongs to District 9-5A, with Catholic League matchups getting the nod in two of the final three weeks of the regular season. Interestingly enough, though, neither of those features Rummel, the two-time defending state champions who come into the season ranked No. 16 in USA Today’s Super 25 poll. Also absent from the slate is perennial powerhouse John Curtis, who cruised to a state title of their own in 2013.
