DENVER – Dakota Ridge won a thriller on the biggest stage, as the Eagles hit a walk-off single to beat Highlands Ranch 5-4 Thursday at Coors Field.
Heading into the seventh inning Highlands Ranch trailed the Eagles 4-1, but scored three runs to tie the game going into the bottom of the inning.
With the bases loaded, Doug Case stepped up to the plate and hit a single up the middle to score Bryce Evans for the game winning run.
With the win, Dakota Ridge improves to 3-1 on the season and will travel to play Valley Vista Monday at 6:30 p.m. and Highlands Ranch (1-1) will travel to Oregon next, where they will play Hillsboro Monday.
