Braxton Davidson is starting to show why he was the Atlanta Braves’ first-round draft pick two months ago.

The Roberson alum is batting .387 with 12 hits and 12 walks in his last 10 games for the Gulf Coast League (Fla.) Braves, who are based out of the Orlando area. He also has four doubles and three RBIs.

Davidson was the 32nd overall selection in this year’s major league draft and accepted a $1.7 million signing bonus from Atlanta. The Braves have a Single-A affiliate (Rome, Ga.) that plays in the South Atlantic League with the Asheville Tourists.

Overall, Davidson is hitting .274 with seven doubles and four RBIs in his first professional season.
