Doyle headed for World Youth Championships

Brentwood’s Kamron Doyle will bowl in the World Youth Championships from Aug. 8-15 in Hong Kong.

There will be 48 countries represented in the world’s largest youth tournament.

He leaves Friday for the 16-hour flight.

“The competition will be pretty strong,” Doyle said. “Countries like Korea and Singapore and Sweden will be there.”

The U.S. won the gold in 2012.

Doyle, who qualified last year, joins three other boys on the U.S. team. The rising junior leaves on Aug. 1.

Doyle finished fourth in Division I last season after winning it the year before. He led the state with a 250.8 average.
