Dream season ends in title game loss for St. Thomas Aquinas

By

The Convoy Crestview High School boys basketball team defeated Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas 71-44 in the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division IV state championship game on Saturday at Ohio State’s Value City Arena to claim the program’s first state title.

The victorious Knights blew open what was a close game at the half by outscoring Aquinas 20-3 in the third quarter to ensure they’d conclude the season with a perfect 29-0 record.

Crestview was led offensively by senior forward Damien Helm, who tallied 20 points and made three 3-pointers. Tyson Bolenbaugh tallied 18 points and Conner Lautzenheiser added 11 points.

Junior guard Anthony Moeglin paced Aquinas (17-12) offensively with 10 points.

Crestview is the first Division IV boys basketball team to finish the season undefeated since 2008.
