East & West split inaugural Maine Winter Classic

GORHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) – Bragging rights in the first ever Maine Winter Classic were shared between Eastern and Western Maine as the East won the Class ‘B’ game with the West winning in Class ‘A’.

Messalonskee’s Dan Condon, who helped the Eagles win their first state title the week prior, scored two goals for the Class ‘B’ Eastern All-Stars in a 4-2.

Drew Lavigne of Thornton Academy scored a hat-trick for in the Class ‘A’ contest as they won a shootout, 7-5.

All of the proceeds from the charity event were raised for the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital.
