Season outlook: Coach John Rodriguez is expecting continued improvement throughout the season, and said he is using the regular season as preparation for a run in the Class 2A state tournament.
Rodriguez’s comment: “Our training focus will continue to be the proper technique of the basic skills. Our three senior captains, Taylor Kring, Taylor Harman and Emily Brinkman, have made significant improvements on and off the court.”

Season outlook: The Bearcats are still a team heavily reliant on underclassmen. Coach Wes Lyon reports that his team’s middle hitters are much improved, and Lacee Adams returns to play setter for the Bearcats for the second consecutive year. Lyon also says his team’s ball control is improving.
Lyon’s comment: “Newcomers Lexi Wright and Virginia Wilhoite will add some firepower to our offensive attack. I am looking forward to an exciting season.”

Season outlook: The Blackhawks are rebuilding after the loss of four seniors from last year’s team, including six-rotation player Kristina Flowers. Coach Pancho Alvarez calls it the “season of opportunities” as various players step up to fill those voids.
Alvarez’s comment: “This group is just as disciplined and hard-working as any team I’ve coached in the past. The challenge will be in learning to play smarter and being there at the end of each match when it’s time to finish.”

Season outlook: Daleville will rely heavily on four returning starters, though it will ask two of them to jump into important new positions. Erin Allen will take over at setter, and Lauren Irelan will take over as the libero. Hannah Huff will be counted on to lead the offensive production, while Hannah McKinney is expected to provide all-around play.
Etchison’s comment: “I am excited to have inherited such a great group of well-coached young ladies. We have some big holes to fill left by the departure of last year’s seniors, but the girls worked hard all offseason and summer to prepare for this season.”
