It wasn’t enough for Etowah to run roughshod over Georgia Region 5AAAAAA rival Cherokee High; they had to do it with sufficient style, thanks to a powerful back by the name of Raishod Devezin.
Devezin, a senior for the Eagles, broke free of the Cherokee line on this 69-yard touchdown scamper. Yet it wasn’t Devezin’s elusiveness that was most impressive; it was his ability to pick up speed while wearing just one shoe.
As highlighted in the video above, Devezin had his left shoe pulled off at roughly the 49 yard line, leaving him with 51 yards still to run. Incredibly, the back hardly even slowed down, blazing his way to the end zone and some additional cushioning for Etowah’s then 27-15 lead.
In truth, Devezin’s touchdown all but ended the game as a competitive contest, and both squads would score just once more in what eventually became Etowah’s 41-21 victory.
None of the touchdowns could compete with Devezin’s marvel, which he can hope will serve as his only one-shoed touchdown run of the season. Maybe double-knot the laces next time?
