Fair Park girls remain unbeaten in 1-4A play

Dominique Johnson led three players in double figures with 18 points as Fair Park pounced on the Benton Lady Tigers early and coasted to a 57-39 win Friday night at Fair Park High School, keeping the Lady Indians atop the District 1-4A standings in the process.

Johnson and Brittney Myles, who scored 13 points to go with 14 rebounds and five blocked shots, scored the majority of their points early in the contest as Fair Park was sprinting out to a 22-5 lead after one period. Tyronica Foster added 12 points for the Lady Indians as they improved to 17-9 overall and an unblemished 8-0 in district play. Fair Park travels to Northwood Tuesday.

Megan Fream led Benton (18-11, 4-4) with 15 points while Brandy Harris dropped in 11 for the Lady Tigers.

Loyola 69, North DeSoto 39: At Loyola, Amber Smith led three players in double figures with 25 points as the Lady Flyers rolled to the District 1-4A victory.

Woodlawn 55, Huntington 47: At Huntington, the Lady Knights outscored the Lady Raiders 30-15 in the second half to pick up the District 1-4A win.

Haggar Caldwell had a game-high 21 points while teammates Rachel Elzie and Amber Cook added nine each as Woodlawn improved to 10-8 and 5-3 in district.

Green Oaks 43, Bossier 31: At Bossier, the Lady Giants’ Y’tavia Whaley scored 12 points while Princess Davis and Jalishia Brown added 11 each as Green Oaks improved to 22-5 overall and 8-1 in district.

Mansfield 56, Evangel 42: At Evangel, Ashlyn Jacobs scored 24 points and Keiona Ross added 11 as the Lady Wolverines (24-6, 8-1) rolled to the District 1-3A win over the Lady Eagles.

North Caddo 93, Calvary 21: At North Caddo, the Class 2A top-ranked Lady Rebels hit 13 3-pointers, including eight by star senior Ledetriha Sheppard, as they easily dismissed the Lady Cavs in District 1-2A action.


North Webster 78, BTW 77: At North Webster, Montavious Smith, playing in his second game since returning from a rib injury, hit a driving lay-up with eight seconds to play as the Knights survived a scare from the Lions to get the District 1-3A victory.

Smith finished with 24 points as North Webster improved to 20-8 and 6-1 in district, one game behind district leader Bossier. Willie Lee scored 19 points, Lyntravious Gipson pumped in 17, and Devin White added 10 for the Knights.

Karim El-Amin led all scorers with 32 points, Marvonte Alexander had 17, and Lacardo Pennington dropped in 10 as BTW fell to 8-12 and 2-5.

Airline 57, Parkway 55: At Airline, the Vikings survived a second-half rally to beat the rival Panthers in District 1-5A action.

Noah Hildebrand had five 3-pointers among his 20 points as Airline improved to 8-18 and 2-5.

Brodrick Jefferson led all scorers with 23 points and Keondre Wudtee added 18 for Parkway (10-11, 2-5).

Byrd 93, Haughton 69: At Haughton, 15 different players scored at least two points for the Yellow Jackets as they defeated the Bucs in District 1-5A play.

Chad Lott had a game-high 30 points and Dontavious Robinson added 12 as Byrd improved to 23-5 and 5-2.

Huntington 68, Woodlawn 45: At Huntington, the district-leading Raiders held the Knights without a double-digit scorer and rolled to the 1-4A victory.

Branden Sheppard scored 17 points while Johnny Woodard and Jakobi Malone added 12 apiece as Huntington improved to 22-2 and 8-0 in district.

Fair Park 73, Benton 32: At Fair Park, the Indians’ Brandon Hall scored 14 points, and Donnie Perkins and Kylon Oliver added 10 each as Fair Park improved to 17-10 overall and 7-1 in district, one game behind leader Huntington.

Loyola 54, North DeSoto 35: At North DeSoto, the Flyers’ Eldrick English scored 16 points and Dominique Kennedy added 13 as Loyola improved to 18-9 and 5-3.

Minden 105, Northwood 91: At Minden, the Crimson Tide got 13 3-pointers, including eight from Kevin Hamilton, to beat the Falcons in a high-scoring District 1-4A contest.

CJ Elkins led Minden (18-7, 6-2) with 37 points, while Hamilton fired in 34. Louis Moore dropped in 17 points and Anfernee Red added 11 for the Tide.

Martavious Washington led all scorers with 42 points, including seven 3-pointers, while Marquez Stevenson dropped in 19 and Malcolm Williams added 11 for Northwood (12-14, 3-5).

Bossier 64, Green Oaks 40: At Bossier, the District 1-3A-leading Bearkats got 15 points each from Darius Leary and Devonte Hall to beat the Giants.

Leterico Moss added 10 points as Bossier improved to 20-7 and 7-0 in district.

Jonathan Bell led Green Oaks (8-17, 2-5) with 14 points.

Evangel 67, Mansfield 59: At Evangel, Calvin Daniels scored 13 points to lead the Eagles (16-11, 4-3) past the Wolverines (6-18, 0-7) in District 1-3A action.
