Fairport, Livonia remain No. 1 in final D&C boys soccer polls

By

This is the final Democrat and Chronicle boys soccer poll this fall. When the sectionals start, we don’t run polls anymore because it’s the games on the field that are deciding who the better team is, not an opinion poll. And isn’t that the way it should be? That’s why we play the games, to let them tell us who the best teams are. Now, this is soccer so there are times when the better team doesn’t always win, especially in a single-elimination or one-off, as the soccer peeps say, tournament. Fairport and Livonia hang on to the top spots this week and I think both will win a sectional crown. Here’s our final poll. Publicly, I want to thank my voters in this poll, who always remain anonymous. We all lead busy lives and for them to take a few minutes out weekly to help me promote the sport, I appreciate it and they should be anonymously applauded.
