AUBURN — Marcus Webb ran for 153 yards and a touchdown, helping Hoover win its third straight state championship with Wednesday’s 35-21 victory over Prattville.
The Bucs (12-2) ran for 244 yards, including two touchdowns by Bradrick Shaw, to take the inaugural Class 7A championship.
Keith Washington was 11-of-23 passing for 267 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for the Lions (11-3).
Daniel Knotts caught five passes for 170 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown late in the first half. Knotts also had a 57-yard catch to the 1 that set up a Washington TD run.
Derek Gappa went 41 yards with a Washington pass for the game’s final touchdown.
John Hutcheson was 9-of-15 passing for 150 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for Hoover.
The Bucs led 21-0 late in the second quarter.
