1. TV time for elite players.
There will be a full slate of elite high school basketball games on ESPNU today; first game tips at 11:30 a.m. and the last kicks off at 5:30 p.m. at the Spalding Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass.
Seven USA Today HSS Super 25 teams will be in action.
2. Richmond back for Wesleyan.
Wesleyan Christian (High Point, N.C.) will certainly get a boost today when point guard JaQuel Richmond, a Houston signee, returns to the backcourt against Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) in the Spalding Hoophall Classic.
Richmond has only been back since late last week after being sidelined for weeks with a hamstring injury.
Will his impact be enough for Wesleyan to pull off its best win of the season?
3. MLK reflections.
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day today we caught up with a bunch of high school hoopers and had them share what King’s memory meant to them and how they feel it impacted their lives.
4. Dolphins want back in.
Whitney Young (Chicago) wants back in to the Super 25 and today’s matchup with No. 5 Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) could be just the win they need to return.
Can the Dolphins seize the moment?
5. Alexander and Curie get their shot at No. 1.
No. 7 Curie (Chicago) has had some impressive wins this season, but it’ll face, by far, its toughest test today when it goes head-up with No. 1 Montverde (Montverde, Fla.).
Can Kansas signee Cliff Alexander and the Condors shock the country with a win?
