Whose streak will be stopped first?  No. 7 Bellevue, Wash., has run its winning streak to 63 games, the most of any Super 25 teams. The run includes six consecutive state titles. The No. 7 Wolverines face 7-2 Bishop Blanchet (Seattle) on Friday. No. 18 Maryville, Tenn., is next with a 41-game winning streak. The Rebels play Walker Valley (Cleveland, Tenn.) in the first round of the 6A playoffs Friday. No. 2 Allen, Texas, and No. 6 Booker T. Washington (Miami) each have won 36 in a row. Booker T. Washington is off this week and Allen isn’t likely to be tested against 1-8 Plano East (Plano) on Friday.

No. 12 Buford, Ga., has won 34 in a row. The Wolves play at 7-2 Stephens County (Toccoa) on Friday. No. 19 Fulton (Knoxville) has won 31 in a row and plays host to 7-3 Scott County (Huntsville) in the first round of the 4A playoffs Friday. No. 22 Eden Prairie, Minn., has won 22 in a row, including three consecutive state titles. The Eagles play a 6A quarterfinal Friday at 9-1 East Ridge (Woodbury).

What makes all these streaks so impressive is these are all the work of public schools, with boundaries that limit, to a certain extent, what players they can get.

No. 11 Archbishop Rummel can’t look past Brother Martin. Rummel (Metarie, La.) is 9-0 and can finish the regular season unbeaten with a win Saturday, but a loss would throw the Raiders into a three-way tie atop its district. Brother Martin (New Orleans) had its first loss last week (a 17-14 defeat to Jesuit) and that means the Crusaders are unlikely to come in flat. Both teams need a win this week to avoid an early playoff matchup with John Curtis Christian (River Ridge, La.).

No. 14 Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach) gets its first test in weeks Friday. The 9-0 Dolphins face 8-1 Salem (Virginia Beach), which has allowed fewer than 10 points a game. The Sundevils haven’t beaten Ocean Lakes since 2011, but lost its last two games to the Dolphins by a total of 18 points, hardly the blowout margin Ocean Lakes is used to as the Dolphins are averaging 55.7 points a game. Dolphins running back Jaason Lewis has rushed for 1,296 yards and 20 touchdowns. Ocean Lakes quarterback Brenden O’Neil has rushed for 1,101 yards and 13 touchdowns. Salem’s Jarrel Lightbody has passed for 1,134 yards and nine touchdowns, and Malik Butts has rushed for 1,053 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Will the Super 25 go 50-0?
Last week, none of the Super 25 football teams lost, the first time that has happened in a full week this season. Surprisingly, though, we’re into the playoffs, there are not that many dangerous games this week, on paper at least.

No. 25 JSerra might have the toughest game of the week. The Lions, from San Juan Capistrano, Calif., are 8-1 and face 4-5 Servite (Anaheim, Calif.) on Friday in Mission Viejo. Simple win, right? Not so fast. JSerra hasn’t blown anybody out recently, winning its past four games by an average of six points. Servite might be the best 4-5 team in the country. All of the Friars’ losses have come to teams that spent time in the Super 25 rankings and Servite has outscored opponents 282-263.
