MORGANTON, N.C. — Fred T. Foard High School and Robert L. Patton High School battled to a 3-3 draw in Monday’s conference opener. After weather prompted cancellation of the JV game between both schools, a lot of people were concerned the varsity game would suffer a similar fate. Once play started, the game lived up to expectations.
Foard was able to get a goal before halftime, leading 1-0. In the second half, both teams’ offenses exploded, accounting for five goals. At the end of the night, neither team was able to pull ahead with an advantage, resulting in the 3-3 draw.
