Neenah Invitational: The Fond du Lac boys golf team finished second out of 14 teams, firing a season-best 342 at Ridgeway Golf Course.

Jack Nejedlo fired an 81 to lead all Cardinal golfers, followed by Matt Dilling’s 85 and Marcus Ruch and Michael Barbeau who carded a pair of 88s.

The Cardinals also faced Kimberly in a nine-hole Fox Valley Associated match before the invite and beat the Papermakers 168-169 to improve to 4-4 on the season.

Nejedlo earned medalist in that match with a 39.

“We shot good enough on a tough course, so we are happy,” Fondy coach Jim Flasch said. “Our team total is going down and we are being as good as we can be toward the end of the season so that was our goal.

“We had a big day out of our No. 5 player in Jack Nejedlo, he was able to hold us today to get us that victory.”
