The Pawling High School football team traveled a long way for their first win of the season. Nearly a 2-hour drive to Sullivan County to be exact.
But they got it.
Pawling defeated Section 9’s Eldred 41-18 on Friday. Aiden King has two touchdowns — one receiving and one rushing. Noah Clowry and Dan Huggard each had touchdown receptions. Matt Kuhlmann had a rushing touchdown. David Bellucci had a rushing touchdowns and all three touchdown passes.
“I was happy to win one,” said Pawling coach Jason Kuhlmann, whose team is participating in a non-league schedule this year. “We’re gradually improving from week to week. I’m happy to see improvements and to get one under our belts. We’re really young this year. I have a dozen sophomores and I play at least eight of them at a time. It was a big step for them.
Gianni Simpson had 10 tackles.
Pawling (1-4) hosts Section 9’s Pine Plains at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
