Cody Ford of Pineville is one of three Central Louisiana players chosen to play for the East in the LHSAA East-West All-Star game scheduled Saturday at 1 p.m. at Independence Stadium in Shreveport.
The 6-foot-4, 310-pound senior offensive lineman who has committed to play collegiately for Oklahoma, will be joined on the East squads by two players from Jonesville’s Block High School — 5-8, 180-pound linebacker Raymond Plummer and 6-7, 340-pound offensive lineman Grant Mieling, a Louisiana-Lafayette commitment.
Ford, the Rebels’ left tackle, entered the season rated by rivals.com as a four-star recruit, the 13th-best prospect in Louisiana and 18th-best offensive guard (his projected college position) in the nation.
Two Central Louisiana players will be on the West squad, and Jess Curtis, the coach who led Many to the Class 2A state title, will be one of five assistant coaches under head coach Bret Fuselier of Class 2A state runner-up Kinder.
The two area players on the West roster are 6-2, 190-pound wide receiver Reginald Turner of Natchitoches Central, who is still undecided about a college, and 5-11, 175-pound Xavier Dias of Many, a UL-Lafayette commitment who is scheduled to play in the all-star game as a defensive back.
Nick Saltaformaggio of Hanville will be the head coach for the East team.
