A week after announcing that he’d play at Tennessee next season, Cape Henry (Virginia Beach, Va.) wing Chris Clarke had a change of heart and decided to stay local and play at Virginia Tech, the perceived favorite throughout Clarke’s recruitment.
“Upon further consideration from our decision last Thursday, Chris has decided to stay local and attend Virginia Tech,” Clarke’s father Curt told ESPN.com. “This is best for our family.”
Clarke, a four-star prospect who is ranked No. 12 among wings in the ESPN 100, averaged 18.2 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and three steals for the Dolphins in route to being named TCIS Player of the Year.
He joins Saint James School (Saint James, Md.) point guard Justin Robinson and Evans (Orlando, Fla.) forward Kerry Blackshear to form the Hokies 2015 recruiting class thus far.
