Cougars can wrap up district title with victory

Bullitt Central remained perfect with a 21-20 overtime win over Bullitt East last week as Trevor Carnell rushed for 215 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries. According to stats submitted to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association, Carnell is the state’s leading rusher at 198.6 yards per game. Quarterback Cameron Dukes (999 yards, 14 touchdowns) also is having a solid season.
Coaches picked Shelby County to win the district in the preseason, and the Rockets took a solid first step toward the title last week by overcoming a 20-7 deficit to beat North Bullitt 34-20. Senior quarterback Britton Woolwine rushed for 87 yards, and senior running back Tyus Ford added 69 yards and two touchdowns.
The pick: Bullitt Central 38-20.
