Height: 6-foot

Athletic achievement: She led the Blue Wave to a 25-0 record and the Class LL state championship this past season. Taylor slammed 304 kills while recording a .508 kill percentage and .460 hitting percentage. A Class LL First Team All-State selection as named by the Connecticut High School Coaches Association, Taylor amassed 179 digs, 169 service receptions, 37 blocks and 36 service aces. In a three-set, title-clinching sweep of Cheshire, she collected 22 kills, eight digs, six service receptions, one service ace and a block, capturing Class LL state championship match Most Valuable Player honors.

Academic excellence: Taylor has maintained a 3.41 GPA.

Exemplary character: In addition to donating her time as a youth volleyball instructor and a Little League Challenger Division assistant, she has volunteered on behalf of her school’s bullying awareness day and Darien’s Safe Rides program. Taylor has also coordinated a fundraising campaign to benefit Global Focus on Cancer’s effort to raise awareness about the disease.


“She is one of the best athletes that I’ve seen in the past five years,” said Tamara DeBerry, head coach of rival Trumbull. “She exudes athletic excellence. I’m excited to see what she brings to the table next year.”

THE FUTURE: Taylor will be a senior in the fall of 2015.
