DEPEW, N.Y.-Hutch-Tech returns seven starters from last year’s team that finished with a record of 2-and-6. Chris Gelsomino’s team has three starters coming back on offense and four starters returning on defense. Gelsomino told Two On Your Side’s Stu Boyar at the Ad Pro Kensington Lions All Star game earlier this summer “we expect to improve we’ve had a fantastic off season. The kids are working hard and seem to be the most dedicated group of kids we’ve had in a long time. ”

Gelsomino says “the offensive line is young but its been productive so far in the off season. I would say Jason Dowell our quarterback is a great athlete. Great height, great arm, but most importantly he’s a great leader. I think you also need to look out our number one reciever Dakym Davis, great speed coming in and out of breaks, and he’s also a great leader. He is mentally tough.”

Gelsomino said the offense is usually ahead of the defense at this point of the year but he added “the offense is a lot further ahead of the curve that I thought it would be at this point.”

Hutch-Tech opens the season Saturday September 6th against South Park. “They are well coached, they have great athletes, they won our division last year, so its a great test for us week one to open up with.” Kickoff is scheduled for 6-pm at All High Stadium..
