Girls' basketball | Lanesville shakes slow start behind Emma Zeller's 17 points

Emma Zeller’s 17 points helped propel host Lanesville to a 48-35 victory over Crothersville last night in girls’ high school basketball.

Both teams’ offenses took awhile to get going; Crothersville led only 4-3 after one quarter. Lanesville (4-9) led 15-11 at intermission, then gradually pulled away in the second half.

Annie Parsons added 10 points for the winners, while Alexis Adair scored 13 points for Crothersville (5-8).

The host Cougars (10-4) led 30-11 at the half and cruised past the Warriors (5-10).* Trinity Lutheran 64, Christian Academy 40:

“We came out flat and could not hit a shot,” said Christian Academy coach Mike Baird said of his squad, which shot just 15 percent in the first half.

Allison Burch had 17 points for Christian Academy.

Mariah Nolan’s 17 points led Trinity Lutheran.
