Girls basketball: Pair of Ships earn all-conference honors


Girls basketball: Pair of Ships earn all-conference honors


Manitowoc Lincoln junior guard Alyssa Fischer gave opposing coaches across the Fox River Classic Conference a lot to think about all season.

Recently, those coaches recognized Fischer’s excellence by naming her first-team all-FRCC. Fischer, a second-team all-conference selection a year ago, averaged 18 points per game this season, a mark which places her second in the league in that category according to

Fischer scored a career-high 32 points on a 64-63 non-conference win over Oostburg on Feb. 1.

Manitowoc’s Alyssa Grotegut was named second-team all-conference. The senior post player averaged a 13.2 points per contest, nearly double the 7.1 she averaged last season. Grotegut scored a career-high 25 in a 59-52 win over Appleton West on Feb. 27.
