Hannah Modahl drained a game-high 22 points, Carrissa Wisse and Jackie Wisse each scored in double figures and the Sheboygan Christian girls basketball team rode a strong first-half performance to a 56-51 win Thursday over Sheboygan Lutheran.

Carissa Wisse finished with 12 points and Jackie Wisse had 10 to help support the Eagles (12-6, 10-4 Central Lakeshore Conference), who led 29-21 at halftime and fended off a Lutheran comeback attempt in the second half.

Modahl hauled in eight rebounds to go with her 22 points.

Erin Quam scored 19 and Danielle Byrum added 16 points to lead Lutheran (10-10, 6-6 CLC).

Jessika Dieringer shot 12-of-13 on free throws en route to a game-high 22 points to lead visiting Ozaukee (6-13, 5-9 CLC) in the win.

The Warriors finished 15-of-21 on free throws as Bailey Johnson had 12 points, Emma Yanke added nine and Kaylee Klopp had eight.

Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah (7-12, 5-8 CLC), which led 24-21 but was outscored 42-25 in the second half, was led by Mariah Ausloos who had 13 points while Emily Holzmann and Emma Feldmann each had nine points.

Rachael Flora also had eight points for the Resorters, who finished 6-of-14 on free throws.

“I think they attacked the basket well and we had no answer to it,” Elkhart Lake coach Don Kulow said. “They got easy looks inside and offensive rebounds.”

Cedar Grove-Belgium (9-11, 5-7 CLC) pushed out to a four-point lead after the first quarter but couldn’t hold on.

Taylor Beninghaus led Howards Grove (9-11, 8-5 CLC) with 12 points and Erin Valenstein added 10 more.

Ashli von Heimburg paced the Rockets with 11 points, with AJ Caldwell pitching in seven.

“We didn’t quit,” Cedar Grove coach Jason Jones said, noting his team’s effort is “a good step toward the rest of the season.”
