Sheboygan Falls won the four-team Cedar Grove girls soccer tournament Saturday after posting a pair of shutout wins against Kettle Moraine Lutheran and Sturgeon Bay.
The Falcons got a late goal and held on for a 1-0 win against Kettle Moraine before scoring a pair of second-half goals for a 2-0 decision against Sturgeon Bay in the event’s championship game.
Abby Mauer scored off an assist from Payton Benzschawel in the 70th minute to snap a long stalemate in Game 1.
“I thought it was one of the best games we played all year,” Falls coach Brian Mentink said of the win against Kettle Moraine.
In Game 2, Katie DePagter scored in the 42nd minute and Tiffany Fischer scored 13 minutes later to seal the win. Fischer and Benzschawel had assists.
Falls improves to 6-2-2 overall with the wins.
