Girls soccer: Springs ties St. Mary Central

By

Springs 2, St. Mary Central 2 (tie): The Zyphers’ Molly Britt scored with 7 minutes left in the game to tie it on the first day of a six-team tournament in which each game is played with 30-minute halves.

Emily McGovern scored both of the Ledgers goals while Anna Huck assisted on both of them and Maggie Kelly had five saves for Springs.

“We played a good game, St. Mary Central is always a tough team to go up against,” Springs coach Ben Winter said. “We had the lead and did everything defensively but (St. Mary Central) got a good reflection to score the last goal. Overall the girls played well.”
