GRAND LEDGE

The 2014 Grand Ledge Varsity Softball season started out with a loss and a win against the DeWitt Panthers.

DeWitt crossed the plate first with a single run in the bottom of the second inning, only to be answered by the Lady Comets with runs by Lauren Bachert and Kaylee Dumond putting Grand Ledge up by one in the top of the third.

The fifth inning brought another run by Bachert. That was all the scoring that would come to the Comets, though, and DeWitt brought three in in the sixth inning leaving a final score of 4-3, DeWitt.

The second game of the double-header left a different result, Grand Ledge outscoring their opponent 12-4.

Lauren Bachert, Madison Groner, Alecia Sutton, and Emily Songer each scored two runs. Jena Stombaugh, Carly Lorecen, Makenzie Treweiler, and Kaylee Dumond each scored one run a piece.

Pitcher Allison Rogers took a loss and a win for the night.
