In Week 9, Ryan went 6-0, Earl was 5-1 and Shawn went 4-2. On the year, Ryan is 47-14, Earl is 41-20 and Shawn is 33-22. The final week of the regular season is now upon us with the final slate of games:
Washington (4-5)at Parkside (4-5)
Thursday, 6:30 p.m.
Earl’s Pick: With emotions running high and 5-5 looking like a possibility for both squads, I’m going out on a limb to say Washington, 28-27.
Ryan’s Pick: Team hopeful for a playoff spot and the other looking to send off its seniors with a four-game win streak. Despite last week’s rally, the Rams are too hot and finish .500. 31-21, Rams.
Shawn’s Pick: Upset of the week ( I have to pick one right?). Jags in a shocker, 24-21.
Snow Hill (2-7)at Stephen Decatur (1-8)
Friday, 6 p.m.
Both teams lost in heartbreaking fashion as the Eagles fell victim to a last-second pass against Washington and the Seahawks had a late-game rally fall short against Parkside.
Earl’s Pick: This game definitely has meaning for these struggling Worcester County rivals. If Snow Hill’s Ian Smith can have the day he had last week, I think the Eagles will have a really good chance. Snow Hill, 33-28.
Ryan’s Pick: Decatur hasn’t had luck on its side all season, but the Seahawks head out of 2014 with a win. Seahawks, 33-21.
Shawn’s Pick: Struggling Decatur pulls one out in the end. Seahawks, 27-24.
Wicomico (4-5)at James M. Bennett (3-6)
Friday, 6:30 p.m.
This city rivalry game may not have much at stake for these two teams, but yearly bragging rights will matter … at least until basketball season.
Earl’s Pick: Wicomico has had Bennett’s number for a while and I think that continues. 20-14, Wicomico
Ryan’s Pick: No better way to end the season. Both teams have improved since 2013 and the Indians go out on top. 24-21, Indians.
Shawn’s Pick: This game has certainly meant more, but it means a lot to the players. Indians, 24-13.
Seaford (1-8)at Laurel (7-2)
Friday, 7:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs have won two straight including a huge blowout victory over Milford last week. Laurel will hope to head into the playoffs on a positive note.
Earl’s Pick: New week, same result. Laurel gets ahead early and rests the starters heading into the playoffs. Laurel, 35-14
Ryan’s Pick: Laurel will roll into the playoffs with this huge mismatch. Bulldogs, 48-7.
Shawn’s Pick: This is about as much of a lock as you can get unless Laurel is late showing up. Bulldogs 36-12.
Delmar (4-5)at Woodbridge (4-5)
Friday, 7:30 p.m.
The Wildcats were able to hit the ground running early against Indian River and came away with a blowout win, Delmar will hope to avoid its first losing season in close to 10 years when they face the Blue Raiders.
Earl’s Pick: Woodbridge has struggled right around the same time Delmar has started to surge. Delmar, 34-14.
Ryan’s Pick: The Wildcats haven’t been strong on the road this year. History is made as Delmar gets its first losing season in 10 years. 24-21, Blue Raiders.
Shawn’s Pick: Delmar cant finish under .500 can they? Wildcats, 24-14.
