High school basketball | Nathan Roush scores 19 as DeSales beats Butler

Nathan Roush’s 19 points paced host DeSales in the Colts’ 48-40 victory over Butler on Monday night in boys’ high school basketball.

DeSales improved to 14-5.

Jeremiah Bell led the Bears (6-11) with 21 points.

Kittrell Withers and Chris McCraw scored 13 points each to lift the host Warriors (9-7) over the Bulldogs (7-11). Fairdale’s Colin Longacre led all scorers with 25 points.* Western 65, Fairdale 58:

: Holy Cross (14-4) missed a free throw to give Central Hardin (9-9) a shot at a last-second 3-pointer to tie the game, but the shot came up just short, allowing the Cougars to hold on. Holy Cross was led by Jacob Nalley, who scored 16 points, and Jack Schmitt, who chipped in 15 points.* Holy Cross 60, Central Hardin 57

Donquel Andrews and Josh Berdick each had 16 points to lift the visiting Trojans (3-12) past the Golden Eagles (6-10). Jalen Wesley led Shawnee with 23 points.* Southern 67, Shawnee 62:

The Warriors (6-7) were up by eight points heading into the fourth quarter but were overtaken by the Bulldogs (6-5) when four ejections — two for each team — were distributed after a skirmish with 5:31 left in the game. Fairdale’s leading scorer, Rashika Babalade, played the entire fourth quarter with four fouls and had nine of her 16 points then.* Fairdale 56, Western 53:

Western’s Dinyell Calvett had 12 points and 13 rebounds when she fouled out in the fourth quarter.

“We were more or less in control until the altercation. When Calvett fouled out, it put us in a bind,” said Western coach Clint Lovely. Datoria Higgins led Western with 22 points.

: The visiting Trojans (6-10) fell to the Golden Eagles (9-5), who were led by Cornesha Barnett with 17 points.* Shawnee 48, Southern 44

Makaila Hilliard was the leading scorer for the Trojans with 25 points.

: The host Mustangs (5-7) fell to the Dragons (5-11), who were led by junior Sydney Jones with 18 points.* South Oldham 69, North Oldham 28

The Mustangs fell behind by allowing 20 turnovers in the first quarter.

Erin Wilson and Holly Schumm each scored 12 points for the Dragons.
