Cory Thomas’ 3-pointer from the left wing with 1.2 seconds to play gave Fairdale a 67-65 boys’ basketball victory at DeSales on Saturday night.
The 22-footer capped a huge comeback for the Bulldogs (10-17), who trailed by 23 midway through the third quarter but outscored DeSales 28-7 in the fourth.
After falling behind, the Colts (19-8) tied it at 64 when Nick Phillips’ steal led to Chase Shellman’s basket with seven seconds left. After Thomas’ 3-pointer, Phillips missed on a desperation heave from halfcourt.
Thomas led Fairdale with 22 points, and Caleb Longacre added 20. Shaun Sullivan led DeSales with 17.
Dominique Mack and Jacob Lehmann had double-doubles as the host Cougars (21-7) extended their school record for victories. The previous mark had been 19 in the 2006-07 season.* Holy Cross 78, Male 69:

Eighth-grader Austin Streble poured in 30 points, including six 3-point baskets, to lead the Bearcats (11-13) past the Eagles (11-17) in the Kentucky Christian Athletic Conference Tournament final at Portland Christian.
