High school basketball | Winburn scores 12 off bench to lead New Albany past Madison

Davon Winburn came off the bench to score 12 points and hit 3 of 4 free throws in the final minute to help New Albany High School defeat Madison 54-51 Friday night in boys’ basketball, the host Bears’ first loss in the Hoosier Hills Conference.

Dre McBirth scored 13 for the Bulldogs (6-2, 4-0).

Nick Macon hit three 3-pointers and scored 21 points for the Bears (7-2, 2-1).

Caleb Hart’s 3-pointer tied the score at 48-48 in overtime and Brian McGee hit the second of two free throws for the go-ahead point as the defending Class A champion Braves (10-1) defeated the Eagles at Borden.* Borden 51, Austin 48 (OT):

Zach Gillam scored 12 points and Garrett Vick 12 for Borden, which extended its win streak to four games.

Markus Fleenor Jr. scored 22 for Austin (4-5).

: James Clemmons had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Zach Moore 14 points and 10 rebounds and the host Mustangs (3-8) rolled past the Hornets.* New Washington 60, Henryville 35

Elijah Weeks hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 points for Henryville (2-9).
