High School Roundup: Chenango Forks wins in BCHSHA play

Jordan Shelepak scored twice for Chenango Forks, including the game-winner with 4:31 remaining in the second period, as Chenango Forks beat Union-Endicott 2-1 in Broome County High School Hockey Association play on Sunday at the SUNY Broome Ice Center.

Shelepak scored in the first period for Chenango Forks before Luke Wilbur’s goal with 6:25 left in the second period on a power-play tied the game. Shelepak restored Forks’ one-goal lead, which held up through the third period.

Adam Carman had 24 saves for Chenango Forks (5-6-3) and Owen Miller made 20 saves for Union-Endicott (3-9-2).

Maine-Endwell 4, Johnson City 1: Kyle Balmer and Colin Wenzel both had a goal and assist and Maine-Endwell had two others players score a goal as Maine-Endwell won while outshooting Johnson City 33-8.

Tyler Deserio and Jeremy Wilber also scored for Maine-Endwell (11-2-1). Jake Cook had the goal for Johnson City (4-9-1).

Chenango Valley 4, Binghamton 2: Jaren Moss scored the tiebreaking goal at 14:42 of the third period and Bryan Pfeiffer added an empty-netter for Chenango Forks, which won despite being outshot 29-15.

Max Telfer and Ben Cofcia each scored for Chenango Forks and Spencer Root made 27 saves. Justin Rozen and Nick Conrow scored for Binghamton.
