High School Roundup: Dani Cronk's five goals lead Maine-Endwell in girls lacrosse

Three Maine-Endwell girls lacrosse players recorded hat tricks as the Spartans kicked off their season with a 15-13 victory over host Chenango Forks in a Section 4 matchup.

Dani Cronk led the way with five goals and three assists, while Chelsea Gable added three goals and an assist.

Lauryn Spocks tallied three goals and Katy Wilkinson two.

The Spartans (1-0) trailed 8-6 at halftime before finding the back of the net nine times in the second half.

Sierra Torillo posted six goals and seven assists to lead the Blue Devils (0-1) and Taylor Gibbore registered three of her own. Goalie Karley Harmon made fifteen saves.

Binghamton 15, Union-Endicott 5: At Binghamton, after a closely-contested first half, the Patriots’ defense tightened up and controlled the game in the second.

Eighth-grader Lauren McPeek scored four goals to help the Patriots (1-0) win their season opener.

Corning 14, Vestal 10: At Vestal, four players each scored multiple goals for the Bears, but it wasn’t enough to take the game as the Hawks controlled shots (21-20) and draws (18-8).

The Bears (0-1) added five goals in the second half, but the Hawks (1-0) answered with four of their own to secure the win.
