High School Roundup: Jake Sherwood, Chenango Forks boys lacrosse beats Whitney Point

Jake Sherwood scored four goals and added an assist, and Brendan Dutcher scored a hat trick with an assist as the Chenango Forks boys lacrosse team beat visiting Whitney Point 12-7 on Thursday night in Section 4 Conference playoff.

James Pattwell added two goals for Forks, and Logan Hall made three assists in the win. Jake Lynch led Whitney Point with three goals and two assists, and Donovan Sturdevant added five assists. Brett Ellerson also had two assists for the Eagles.

Maine-Endwell 20, Chenango Valley 4: At Maine-Endwell, Brock Post, Tyler Thompson and Connor O’Brien tallied three goals each as the Spartans routed Chenango Valley. Post added four assists and Thompson three for the Spartans (3-0), who outshot the Warriors 48-9.

Cicero-North Syracuse 12, Binghamton 5: At Binghamton, the Northstars scored three consecutive man-up goals in the third quarter to knock off the Patriots. Harrison Gardiner and Zach Spear each scored two goals for Binghamton (1-1) and freshman goalie Thomas Drapier made 23 saves.

Ithaca 16, Union-Endicott 5: At Ithaca, the Little Red had four players score multiple goals, as Zach Johnson led the group with four. Teammate Matt Fricke put up 12 saves, shutting down the Tigers’ offense.
