The Highland boys basketball team held a lead for most of the game and beat Wapello 74-69 Monday in Riverside.
The Indians tied the score at 40-40 with four minutes left to the play in the third quarter, but the Huskies held them off.
Josh Brase had 24 points for the Huskies, Chris Ford had 17 points and eight rebounds, Trent Lasek had 11 points, Nick Sandburg had 10 points, and Colin Sexton had 12 rebounds.
Highland is 11-6 overall and 10-5 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference.
* WASHINGTON 52, LONE TREE 48: The Lions had an 11 point lead with six minutes to play in the third quarter but couldn’t hang on down the stretch.
Trenton Gosnell had 16 points for Lone Tree (11-5), Jovonte Squiers had 13 points, and Matt Wieland had 10 points.
* HIGHLAND 41, WAPELLO 37: Kelsey Hora and Chelsey Lampe each had 15 points to lead the Huskies in Riverside.
Lampe also had four steals as Highland overcame a 27-20 halftime deficit with an 11-4 run in the third quarter.
Highland is 12-6 overall and 10-6 in the SEISC.
