Hockey: Ralston Valley advances to title game in dominating fashion

By

DENVER – Ralston Valley has dominated teams all season and continued that trend in their 6-2 victory over Cherry Creek in the semifinals of the Ice Hockey Championships.

Cherry Creek looked as if they were going to give Ralston a true test after jumping out to a 1-0 lead early in the first period, but the Mustangs, who are the defending state champs and have now won 29 straight games, scored six unanswered goals from that point on to pull away from the Bruins.

The Mustangs dominated every single phase of the game and outshot Creek 48-17 on the night.

Ralston Valley will now look to win their second straight state championship when they face Monarch in a re-match of last seasons title game later today at 3:30 p.m. at the Denver Coliseum
