Alex White scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds Thursday night as the Homer High boys’ basketball team improved to 8-0 on the season with a 66-62 Big Eight victory over Quincy.

Also for the Trojans (5-0 league), Dylan Thomas had 16 second-half points.

The Orioles (6-2, 4-1) received 14 points and five rebounds from Nick Haberl, and 13 points and six boards from Jake Rider. Also, Jimmy King had 11 points, four rebounds and three assists; and Mike Tesch had nine points and 10 rebounds.

Sturgis 24, Marshall 6: For the Redhawks, Emily Rupp rolled a 171 and Taylor Shippell a 167.

Coldwater 30, Lakeview 0 (forfeit): For Coldwater, Dana Bailey had a league-high 237 game and Kira Mobley a 186.

BOYS’ BOWLING

Coldwater 30, Lakeview 0 (forfeit): For the Cards, Buddy Bailey had 204 and 213, and Austen Reichhart had a 191.

Sturgis 16, Marshall 15: The teams were tied at 15-all after two regular games and two Bakers, and Sturgis then had a 211 Baker in the tiebreaker for the win. Grey Gillett had a 240 game for the Redhawks, Mick Schaum a 208, and Marshall had an earlier Baker of 232.

Jonesville 21, Pennfield 9: The teams traded wins in the regular games, and Jonesville won both Bakers. Tyler Kipp had a 234 for the Panthers, and Corie Gardiner had a 161.
