HS football offensive, defensive players of week named

The News-Press and National Scouting Report have named offensive and defensive players of the week for weeks 8 and 9 of the high school football season.

The Week 8 winners are:

Carson Pearlman of Evangelical Christian was defensive player after accumulating 11 tackles, 3 forced fumbles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 fumble recovery and 1/2 sack. He also scored 4 TD’s on offense. You can watch a video of him receiving his award by clicking HERE.

Antwan Dixon from South Fort Myers was awarded offensive player of the week honors. Dixon accounted for all of his teams 5 TDs. He ran for 3, caught 1 pass for a TD and threw for 1 TD. You can watch a video of him receiving his award by clicking HERE.

The Week 9 winners are:

Terrance DeAvila of Southwest Florida Christian Academy was awarded offensive player of the week after rushing for 249 yards on 11 attempts scoring 2TD’s and threw for 63 yards for 1TD.
