The Patriots surrender their first points, but Kelvin Hopkins makes up for the defense in victory
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Kelvin Hopkins and the Independence Patriots rolled on to another victory Friday, defeating visiting Hough, 27-17. The Huskies did get on the scoreboard against the Pats, a feat that had not been accomplished in Indy’s first four games. Despite scoring 17, the Huskies were unable to contain quarterback Kelvin Hopkins on a consistent basis. The standout for Indy ran for three scores, leading his team to the victory.
Independence is now 5-0 and remains a favorite in the Southwestern Conference.
