Yorktown’s Chandler Carroll was announced as one of the Indiana Football Hall of Fame’s Class Football Scholarship winners. Carroll was the Class 3A honoree.
Carroll, The Star Press Football Athlete of the Year each of the past two seasons, rushed for 2,529 yards in his senior season with the Tigers. He has signed to continue his football career at the University of Chicago. Carroll also participated in wrestling at Yorktown.
He was a national finalist for the Wendy’s High School Heisman, an award that combines athletics, academics and community involvement.
Carroll is president of the National Honor Society at Yorktown, and is also involved in several community organizations. According to a news release issued by the Indiana Football Hall of Fame, Carroll had a 4.0 GPA at the time of his nomination and was ranked No. 1 in his class academically.
