The Izard County Cougars remained unbeaten in 1A-2 North Conference play with a 61-38 whipping of the Hillcrest Screamin’ Eagles on Friday at Lynn.
Izard County (15-4, 6-0) returns to action Tuesday with a trip to Viola.
The Cougars led 13-7 after a quarter, 27-21 at the half and opened up a comfortable 44-26 advantage after three quartes of play.
Andy Markovic led the way for Izard County with 16 points, seven rebounds and four blocks. Andrew Walker pitched in 15 points, seven boards and three steals, while Clay Mosley recorded 10 points and four rebounds.
The Lady Cougars were also victorious, cruising to a 64-26 win over the Lady Screamin’ Eagles.
Izard County (14-5, 5-1) were in charge by halftime with a 38-16 lead.
Kennedy Cooper had another big game with 33 points, six steals, five rebounds and two assists. Erica Sac added nine points and two steals.
Izard County’s only loss of the night came in the junior boys’ game, where Hillcrest emerged with a 37-27 win.
Justus Cooper led Izard County (2-1 in conference play) with 16 points.
