A walk-off home run by Jake Gray in the seventh inning lifted Lakeside to a 3-2 in over Choudrant on Tuesday afternoon in non-district baseball action.
Luke Griffith ran his record to 3-1 with the pitching win, while Connor Baskin took the loss. Cameron Gray went 2-for-2 for Lakeside (8-4), while Baskin and Anthony Spence had doubles for the visitors.
Benton 9, Haughton 5: Cameron Horton went 4-4 with four RBIs, while Peyton Leflett had three hits to lead the Tigers past the Bucs. Matthew Sewell was 3-for-3 and Sam Wallace had a pair of hits for Haughton. Aaron Baker was the winner on the mound, while Brad Bockhaus absorbed the loss.
Minden 16, Parkway 6: A home run and four RBIs by Turner Francis was part of a 10-hit Minden attack in the runaway win over the Panthers. Dylan Whaley had three hits and Demetrius McAtee added two for Parkway.
Captain Shreve 6, St. Mary’s 4: Harrison Lawrence picked up a pitching win for the Gators on Tuesday afternoon, while Madison Livingston picked up the save. James Carney had a home run and William Torrent had two hits for St. Mary’s.
Softball
Caddo Magnet 14, Doyline 6: Sarah Mitchell went 3-for-4 with three RBIs for the Lady Mustangs in the easy non-district win on Tuesday. Catie Letson and Brittany Maples added a pair of RBIs for Caddo Magnet (7-5).
Katie Bakalis (5-4) picked up the win, while Kim Coleman absorbed the loss. Whitney White had two RBIs for Doyline, while Chantrell Johnson went 2-for-4.
Airline 5, Byrd 4: At Airline, despite three home runs by Byrd, the Lady Vikes picked up the key District 1-5A victory. Madison Rowland drove in the winning run for Airline after Miranda Young homered, while Lindsay Fronzaglio and Ashley Salanis had doubles.
Tara Schuler, Tia Timerding and Emily Daniel had homers for Byrd. Jamie Roberts picked up the win in relieve of Kayla Ranit. Hannah Lee took the loss.
Evangel 3, Captain Shreve 2: Shelby Salley went 4-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs as the Lady Eagles escaped the Lady Gators. Emily Deramus and Whitney Usie added two hits for Evangel, while Liz Adams had a double. Anna Dunn had two hits for Shreve in support of Charlieann O’Brien. Carolina Sanchez picked up the win.
Southwood 9, North Caddo 1: Lexi Gloria had three hits, while Nikki Greer, Katelyn Scrugs and Brooklyn Bass posted two apiece for the Lady Cowboys in the easy win.
