Volunteer work: Traveled to Kentucky with church youth mission group to repair homes and restore park equipment, The Salvation Army bell-ringing, referee basketball games for fourth through sixth grades, church events such as proclaiming, breakfasts and bazaars

Favorite sports memory: For the first time in 12 years, the Lady Penguins basketball team won a regional game during my senior year. It was awesome; we were all in tears. The seniors had played together since fourth grade. It was the best way to end our high school basketball career.

Advice to an athlete: Work hard every single minute of every single practice no matter how difficult. The only way to get better is to believe in yourself. The team should be your everything — they are your support and you are theirs. Give 110 percent and have a good attitude.

Inspiration: My parents were my inspiration. They believed in me from the beginning, never missed a game and drove me wherever I needed to be. They coached, helped, wiped tears, cried with me, smiled, laughed and cheered. They taught me to have a positive attitude on and off the court/field.

College plans: UW-Eau Claire for speech pathology or occupational therapy.
