KCD boys' basketball beats Cincinnati team

The Kentucky Country Day boys’ basketball team defeated Cincinnati’s School for Creative and Performing Arts 73-67 on Thursday in the first round of the North American Stainless Tournament in Carrollton.

Malyiek McCray scored 26 points and Zach Lyles added 21 to lead the Bearcats (7-3).

Quincy Tillinghast had a game-high 30 points, including six 3-pointers, for the Raiders (2-3).

Girls

: The Generals (6-5) shattered an 11-11 first-quarter tie by outscoring host Whitefield 34-14 over the middle two quarters.* Thomas Nelson 56, Whitefield Academy 34

Beth Simpson led the Generals with 11 points.

Kelsey Blackwell had 13 points for the Wildcats (3-7).
