One of the great new features on Kens 5’s high school sports site is the Massey High School Score Predictor. This interactive game simulator, named after sports statistician Ken Massey, lets you choose any two varsity teams in the nation and pit them against each other. Using statistics from past seasons, you can find out which team would win a certain matchup before the game is played.
Try it yourself here.
KENS 5 will pick five featured high school football games every Friday and use the score predictor to see what the outcome might be. Then we can look back after the weekend and compare the results.
Here are this week’s predictions:
Boerne Champion 47 vs. Kennedy 7 (Edgewood Veterans Stadium)
Edison 19 vs. Lanier 14 (Alamo Stadium)
Jay 41 vs. Taft 44 (Gustafson Stadium)
St. Anthony 7 vs. Central Catholic 39 (Bob Benson Stadium)
Johnson 38 vs. Roosevelt 14 (Comalander Stadium)
Boerne Champion 49 vs. Kennedy 0 (Edgewood Veterans Stadium)
Edison 14 vs. Lanier 40 (Alamo Stadium)
Jay 12 vs. Taft 55 (Gustafson Stadium)
St. Anthony 14 vs. Central Catholic 56 (Bob Benson Stadium)
Johnson 34 vs. Roosevelt 7 (Comalander Stadium)
Massey went 4-1 this week, incorrectly picking the Edison vs. Lanier game by a large margin. The closest pick of the week was the Boerne Champion vs. Kennedy game, missing the exact score by nine points. The Massey predictor is now 22 for 25 this season.
