Kentucky leads NCAA tournament teams with seven former ALL-USA selections

By

Last year, no team in the NCAA tournament had more former American Family Insurance ALL-USA players on its roster than UNLV. A whole lot of good that did the Runnin' Rebels, who lost their opening game to ALL-USA-less California. Without Anthony Bennett, who decided to get paid to play basketball, albeit not very well, in the NBA, UNLV missed the tournament this season.

But before you completely dismiss "Number of Former ALL-USA Players on the Roster" as a reasonable way of deciding which teams will advance this March, know that two years ago Kentucky entered the Big Dance with a tournament-best six former ALL-USA selections and the Wildcats cut down the nets in New Orleans. So there's that.

Preseason ALL-USA Basketball Team | 2013-14 ALL-USA Team Finalists

There are 13 teams in this year's field with at least one former ALL-USA honoree. Kentucky leads the way with seven players, including six freshmen, while Kansas, led by 2012-13 ALL-USA Player of the Year Andrew Wiggins, is the only other tournament team with more than two honorees. Check out the full list below. And yes, you could do a lot worse than a Final Four of Kentucky, Kansas, Arizona and Villanova.
