The Kimberly boys’ track and field team earned seven first-place finishes on Tuesday night to nose out Appleton North 115.5-114 at the Fox Valley Association Relays at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh.
The Papermakers girls made it a clean sweep with eight first-place finishes as Kimberly outdistanced Appleton North 125-90.
On the boys’ side, the Papermakers dominated the relay events by winning the 400 (42.95 seconds), 800 (1:31.59), 3,200 (8:20.17) and distance medley (10:56.82), while getting top finishes from Cole Robinson in the 1,600 (4:32.95), Dan Pendergast in the 300 hurdles (40.44), Bryson Kasper in the discus (164-1) and Matt Weinhold in the shot put (53-103/4).
Appleton North won three events, the 400 field relay (46.58), the 800 sprint medley (1:36.88) and the 1,600 relay (3:29.82).
Neenah’s Chris Van Dyke won a pair of events, taking first in the long jump (21-2¾) and the triple jump (43-2).
Amber Schaefer earned two first-place finishes for the Kimberly girls, winning the long jump (16-8) and triple jump (34-2¾). Other Papermakers to earn first-place finishes included Sarah Richardson in the 1,600 (5:19.48), Miriam Scholl in the 300 hurdles (46.92), the 400 field relay (55.60), Donna Garcia in the discus (110-1) and Amber Chevalier in the hig hjump (5-2) and Taylor Huss in the shot put (38-5).
The Lightning earned four first-place finishes, including Halle Giaimo in the 100 hurdles (15.41), the 400 relay (51.29), the 800 relay (1:48.07) and the 800 sprint medley (1:54.28).
Neenah earned three top finishes, winning the 1,600 relay in 4:09.96, the 3,200 relay in 9:53.70 and the distance medley in 12:31.59.
